Donald Trump 'falls asleep' in public again as health fears soar

Donald Trump has once again been accused of dozing off in public. During Thursday’s inaugural meeting of his so-called “Board of Peace” in Washington, D.C., the US President appeared to fall asleep while world leaders and national delegations were addressing the group.

The Board of Peace was originally created to guide plans for Gaza following its destruction by Israel, but Trump has since expanded its scope, calling it “the most consequential international body in history.” Despite the high-profile nature of the meeting, social media users quickly pointed out the president’s apparent nap.

One user on X wrote: “More than two hours into this ‘Board of Peace’ meeting, we are now enduring random world leader open mic time and Trump's eyes are closed.” Others added comments such as: “That man is fully asleep,” “Such an embarrassment. Make it stop,” and the sardonic remark: “He is board of peace.”

This isn’t the first time Trump has been seen dozing publicly. Earlier, he appeared to fall asleep while EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin spoke about the Clean Air Act at a news conference broadcast on Fox News. After the long speech, Trump even remarked from the podium: “That was long.”

As Trump, now 79, enters the second year of his second term, questions about his physical and cognitive health continue to attract attention. Viral images, limited medical transparency, and firm denials from the White House have all fueled speculation. During a 9/11 commemoration in September, footage captured a brief droop on the right side of his face, sparking discussion online about whether it indicated fatigue, a temporary issue, or a possible medical concern.
