GB News anchor Eamonn Holmes didn’t hold back when discussing former President Donald Trump’s plans to acquire Greenland. During a live broadcast, Holmes described Trump as “mental and deranged” after a breaking alert about the proposal aired.
The segment began with anchor Ellie Costello asking political analyst Eric Ham about Trump’s letter, in which he stated, “I no longer think purely about peace.” Holmes immediately interrupted, saying, “I tell you what I think of it. He’s mental, he’s deranged. I’m being serious. People here really are questioning this man’s mental health. He had a lot of support in the United Kingdom and it is flying out the window.”
Eric Ham supported Holmes’ view, adding that Trump’s actions signal more than just unusual rhetoric. “This man has now made clear that he intends to make war, create chaos, not peace,” Ham said. “He’s sending a warning not just to Greenland but to all U.S. allies with proposed tariffs on eight European nations.”
Ham also criticized Trump’s approach to international agreements, suggesting that treaties and pacts seem meaningful only when they serve his personal interests. He concluded, “We’re seeing many global leaders growing frustrated with this president.”
Social media reactions to the broadcast were split. Many viewers praised Holmes for speaking candidly, with one user writing, “Glad people are finally realizing Trump’s a dictator… pity it took him showing his real hand for the right wing to get it.” Another added, “Well done for saying what others at GB News are too afraid to say.”
Some, however, disagreed, arguing that Trump’s criticism of the UK and EU is justified, calling the region “beyond dangerous and insane.”
Oddly enough, humpty trumpty is the one who is dangerously insane. Wake up America!
