Melania Trump’s newly released documentary made its debut this week, but early reactions suggest the premiere did not go as smoothly as expected.
The film premiered on January 29 at the recently rebranded Trump-Kennedy Center. While the red carpet event was meant to showcase strong support, an awkward hot-mic moment quickly shifted the narrative. Two photographers were overheard discussing a printed guest list and pointing out several high-profile figures who never arrived.
Among the names reportedly absent were Kari Lake, Bret Baier, Kellyanne Conway, Riley Gaines, Kash Patel, Kristi Noem, Pam Bondi, Sean Duffy, and Peter Navarro. The premiere concluded on a surprisingly light note, ending with laughter as many attendees realized just how few of the expected guests actually showed up.
Attendance from the Trump family was also limited. While Donald Trump and Donald Trump Jr. were present, Barron Trump did not make an appearance.
The documentary has also faced controversy behind the scenes. Rolling Stone reported that around two-thirds of the film’s crew asked not to be credited. Some expressed regret over participating one even said they would feel “great” if the film failed commercially, while another admitted that their concerns about the project had grown since production began. Read more about the production issues here.
Despite these criticisms, Melania Trump was consistently described by crew members as “friendly” and “totally nice.” Financially, the documentary has already been profitable: she reportedly earned about $28 million from a licensing deal after Amazon MGM Studios paid $40 million for the rights and spent an additional $35 million on marketing. A detailed breakdown of the financials is available here.
Still, early box office results, particularly in the UK, have been underwhelming. Reports indicate that some British cinemas sold virtually no ticketsfor example, Cineworld locations in Broughton and Wandsworth sold only five and four tickets, respectively, despite the film being shown in over 100 cinemas nationwide. It remains unclear whether the documentary will continue its theatrical run, but initial reactions suggest that audience interest may be far smaller than the massive marketing campaign would have indicated. View a review of early audience reactions here.
It's amazing to me all the hate toward a woman that had done nothing confrontational. She is a private woman, and doesn't want the lime light, and for that she is demonized. Whether it is jealousy, envy, or Trump derangement syndrome we will never know. Why can't we all put away this hate for the other side, I was raised that if you don't have something positive to say keep quiet. The loudest folks have the least to say, only loud, obnoxious voices.
ReplyDeleteComments like these just reinforce that fact that the world is getting dumber by the day.
DeleteDone nothing confrontational? "I don't care, do U?". Didn't she get get into the country, marry an allegedly rich guy and chain migrate other family members to the US? Isn't her husband the same guy that railed against chain migration during his first term?
DeleteShe's a private woman? How many private women get to have a cockamamie documentary produced about them?
She's lied about her language skills and college education.
She's not as much of a fraud as her husband, but she's not anything like you've described her.
You know nothing about her but act like you do. She has her own money. She didn't need Dt. What she sees in him I don't know but that's not my business. She is fluent in several languages & she didn't have to marry to get in the country. She has a clean background so getting into the US at the time was a shoe in for her
DeleteMelania had very little money of her own before she met Trump in the late 90s. Before becoming FLOTUS the first time around, she did sell branded jewelry and made some money for herself. And, she fully supported her husband during the horrific race-hating Birther Debacle. She was caught on a hot ‘mic’ hating on Xmas and its decorations. She apparently doesn’t care to be relentlessly humiliated by her deplorable husband. She deserves any negativity sent her way. SHE CAN LEAVE her situation.

ReplyDeleteYou are obviously an uneducated, judgmental & ill informed individual with absolutely zero knowledge of who Melania Trump actually is!
Negative, hateful rhetoric is the purest form of jealousy!
If you do not have anything civil, respectfull or positive to say-then I suggest that you keep your nasty comments to your self!
I concur

DeleteThat's literally all trump does. This guy has a derogatory nick-name for every democrat in the US and a good amount of republicans too. Melania plagiarized one of Michelle Obama's speeches word for word.
OMG you magats are incredible stupid you think that bitch had money show me
ReplyDeleteShe has now. But didn’t have much before she met Trump in NYC in the late 90s. Why she doesn’ leave him is beyond normal thinking.

ReplyDeleteI believe she's the one who destroyed the iconic Rose Garden, wasn't she? Thereby earning her the appropriate nickname "the Rose Garden butcher from Slovenia." She went to the border and asked t
the people what could she do to help, and then her true character shone through when she boarded the plane, "I don't really care, do you?" What has she ever done for humanity?
Not even for children has she done nothing. You don't hear of her going to schools to read and
mingle with children or anybody. She only cares about herself, she's only interested in having her
picture taken or going on trips over seas.
Open your eyes, people and call a spade a spade. There's no love in her heart for God's people!!!!
