Karoline Leavitt spotted using Bad Bunny song before Super Bowl criticism

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, 28, has publicly criticized Bad Bunny on multiple occasions, yet keen observers recently noticed a surprising twist.

Before Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, Leavitt called the Puerto Rican artist “sad” following his Grammy Awards speech, in which he criticized ICE. She even suggested that celebrities like him, who live in gated communities with private security, were out of touch when speaking against law enforcement. Despite these comments, Leavitt’s own social media told a slightly different story.

In her New Year’s Eve 2025 recap on Instagram, Leavitt included a mashup titled 2025 End Now, which opened with Bad Bunny’s chart-topping hit DTMF. The video showed her in the Oval Office with her son Niko, alongside highlights from the 2025 Super Bowl and professional moments featuring President Donald Trump.

Fans quickly noticed the contradiction. Comments ranged from amusement to disbelief:

  • “Not her using Bad Bunny on her stuff,” one wrote.

  • “She probably has no clue, lmao,” said another.

  • “Bad Bunny playing for the recap is the funniest thing I’ve seen this year. She lowkey loves him like the rest of us,” joked a third.

This revelation comes just days after the Grammys, where Bad Bunny called for ICE to leave Minnesota in response to the tragic deaths of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti. Karoline Leavitt criticized him for speaking out, labeling it “very ironic and frankly sad” that wealthy celebrities criticize law enforcement while living protected lives. She also drew comparisons to Hollywood’s silence during the previous administration, referencing victims like Jocelyn Nungaray and Laken Riley.

Leavitt’s critiques didn’t stop there. Ahead of the Super Bowl, she told the press she believed President Trump would prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny. Yet Trump himself contradicted her, revealing on Truth Social that he watched Bad Bunny’s performance at Mar-a-Lago and described it as “absolutely terrible,” confirming that he skipped the Turning Point USA halftime show.

The incident highlights the curious disconnect between Leavitt’s public statements and her private media choices proving that even critics can’t always resist a catchy tune.
