Fox News turns on Donald Trump as guest fumes 'that's no excuse'

Massachusetts Representative Seth Moulton appeared on Fox News’ Hannity on Friday, January 30, where he discussed the conduct of ICE officers amid rising tensions across the U.S.

During the segment with host Sean Hannity, Moulton acknowledged the challenges faced by federal officers, saying, "Sure. Their job is hard." However, he quickly emphasized that the difficulty of the job does not excuse misconduct. "That’s not an excuse for not following the law," he stated.

Moulton, a former Marine, stressed that ICE agents should maintain professionalism, drawing a comparison to his own military experience in Iraq. Hannity interrupted, asserting that “bad apples” should be removed from the force, but Moulton persisted, noting, "Being a Marine in Iraq was a little tougher than that."

The exchange sparked debate online. Some viewers supported Moulton’s point of view. One social media user commented, "‘Their job is hard enough’ is no excuse. Anyone who can’t do the job should quit." Others highlighted his credentials, noting his three degrees from Harvard and two Bronze Stars.

Meanwhile, some viewers defended Hannity and criticized Moulton. One wrote, "This guy Moulton is an absolute moron. There is something seriously wrong with this man," while another questioned his claims about ICE not following the law, noting that officers are enforcing longstanding policies against criminal illegal activity.

The discussion comes amid nationwide protests against ICE, with more than 300 demonstrations taking place recently. These protests were sparked by the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good in Minneapolis, Geraldo Campos in a Texas detention facility, and Keith Porter Jr., who was shot by an off-duty ICE agent in Los Angeles.

The segment highlights the ongoing tensions around immigration enforcement in the U.S. and the scrutiny ICE has faced following several high-profile incidents.
