Donald Trump has recently drawn renewed attention over visible signs on his left hand, sparking online discussion about his health and public appearances.
At an event on Wednesday, Trump was seen wearing a black glove on his left hand. The image, shared on X by Jake Traylor, an MSNBC White House correspondent, quickly circulated online. Observers noted that the glove covered the same hand where Trump has appeared with noticeable bruising in recent weeks. There has been no official, on-camera explanation for why the glove was worn.
Similar discoloration was visible during a recent appearance in Washington, DC, where rapper Nicki Minaj briefly held Trump’s hand during a surprise on-stage moment at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium. Trump was speaking at a Treasury Department summit at the time. Earlier this month, he was also seen with bruising and swelling on the same hand during multiple public events, including appearances connected to the World Economic Forum in Davos.
While addressing global leaders in Switzerland, dark marks on Trump’s hand were again noticeable, prompting fresh discussion on social media. Trump later addressed the matter in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, stating that the bruising was caused by aspirin use. He explained that doctors had advised him to take aspirin to thin his blood, and that higher doses can lead to visible bruising. Trump added that although he had been advised to reduce the dosage, he had continued taking a higher amount for years.
The White House has previously sought to ease concerns, saying that medical scans showed no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease following a comprehensive health evaluation.
Later on Wednesday, Trump appeared in a live Fox News broadcast, again wearing a single glove on his left hand while indoors. During the segment, he was asked about assessments from some officials regarding Alex Pretti. Trump responded that he had not heard those claims, but criticized Pretti for carrying a gun and multiple loaded magazines, calling the situation “a very unfortunate incident.”
Despite the conversation shifting toward gun policy, much of the online reaction focused on Trump’s appearance. Several viewers questioned the choice to wear only one glove, with one social media user asking what he might be hiding, while another wondered why the glove was worn on just one hand.
As with previous instances, the images fueled online speculation, even as official explanations pointed to medical reasons already disclosed by Trump and his doctors.
