Melania Trump in awkward blunder as she struggles with microphone at White House egg roll

First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald Trump made a joint appearance before the press on Monday during the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, though the moment was slightly awkward when Melania struggled with the microphone.

After the President invited her to say a few words, Melania appeared to have difficulty adjusting the microphone to a comfortable height. “Happy Easter Monday,” she said, eventually giving up on repositioning it. She continued, addressing the excited crowd: “I hope you enjoy this beautiful day. We are celebrating a very special Easter Egg Roll this year as part of the 250th birthday of our nation. Enjoy it, and I hope you have a wonderful day,” before returning the microphone to her husband.

Their public appearance came amid swirling rumors that President Trump had been admitted to Walter Reed Army National Medical Center. Speculation intensified over the weekend after White House officials announced that he would not be making any public appearances after 11:08 a.m. an unusual move for Trump, who is typically seen golfing at Mar-a-Lago on weekends.

On Sunday, he was spotted in the back of a black SUV at Memorial Circle, discussing plans to build an arch to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary.

The White House denied that Trump had been hospitalized. Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr. criticized those spreading the rumors in a post on X, calling it “nothing short of demonic.” He claimed that while the President was working on a critical mission to rescue an American pilot, the left was running a campaign suggesting he was dead. Trump Jr. also called for an investigation into the origins of these posts and suggested that all accounts involved should be demonetized.

This isn’t the first time Trump has visited Walter Reed. In October, he underwent an MRI scan, which he later described as yielding “perfect” results. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, he said the doctors reported some of the best results for his age, though he did not explain the reason for the scan. When pressed, Trump advised journalists to “ask the doctors” for details.
