Sky News interrupted its regular programming for a major breaking news update after former President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social, warning that “time is running out” for Iran to reach a deal amid escalating tensions. The network’s host read Trump’s post aloud, which stated:
“Remember when I gave Iran 10 days to make a deal or open up the Hormuz Strait. Time is running out. 48 hours before all hell will reign down on them. Glory be to God! President Donald J Trump.”
Middle East commentator Tara Kangarlou offered her analysis, telling viewers: “Once again, we see how this conflict is playing out in real time on social media. Iran’s key sites have already been struck, and this story is evolving rapidly.” She also noted that Trump’s post made no mention of the missing U.S. pilot or the recent damage reported.
Military analyst Sean Bell weighed in on the post, pointing out: “To my recollection, the 10 days Trump mentioned expire on April 6 so roughly 40 hours from now. Objectively, while the U.S. military has dealt serious blows, Iran appears to be gaining influence and asserting authority in the region.” He added that targeting Iran’s infrastructure, even if legally justified, could alienate the local population.

The post comes amid Iran’s claim that it shot down two U.S. aircraft an F-15E and an A-10 Warthog using domestically-produced air defense systems. According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari called the downing a “humiliation” for the U.S. and asserted that Iran will eventually achieve full control of its airspace.
Social media reactions were swift. One X user asked, “Wait, weren’t they supposed to be seeking a deal?” Another commented, “He’s already issued ultimatums and hinted at severe consequences.
