Donald Trump 'hiding' sinister health concerns behind thick orange makeup as White House breaks silence

President Donald Trump’s unusually orange appearance during his White House meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has sparked a wave of reactions on social media, with many joking that he looked “radioactive.”

Chancellor Merz visited the White House on Tuesday amid tensions over Iran, following Trump’s criticism of Germany for being too lenient toward the country. During their Oval Office meeting, Trump’s signature tangerine complexion appeared especially pronounced, drawing attention online.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) joked, “LMFAO. He’s reached radioactive.” Others speculated about his health, with comments like, “He’s wearing all this makeup to hide his health decaying.” Some likened him to fictional characters: “Trump looks like an Oompa Loompa at Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory,” one post read, while another sarcastically asked, “Did someone overcompensate whilst covering up his neck scabies this morning?”

Not all reactions were supportive of the clips circulating online. Some criticized the person sharing the video, with comments such as, “You’re out of real news,” and “Is that all you got?”

The orange hue reportedly coincides with a rash that appeared on the side of Trump’s neck, first noticed during the Medal of Honor ceremony on Monday. The White House explained the mark was caused by a topical treatment prescribed by the president’s physician. Dr. Sean Barbabella said, “President Trump is using a very common cream on the right side of his neck, which is a preventative skin treatment. The redness is expected to last for a few weeks.”

Observers also noted that the 79-year-old president arrived more than 40 minutes late to the ceremony. During the event, he was seen with discolored hands and appeared to stumble and slur parts of his speech while recognizing the final honoree. He was heard saying, “Finally, we honor one more soldier, a fallen warrior of the world… of wars,” while reading from a teleprompter.

Concerns over Trump’s health have emerged previously, particularly regarding bruising on his hands. During a December meeting with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, he appeared to use makeup to cover his hands. The White House has consistently downplayed these concerns. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained that the bruising results from “consistent irritation” due to “frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin,” adding that Trump has chronic venous insufficiency but has made no lifestyle adjustments.

Multiple sources reported that the rash first appeared during a trip to Texas, where Trump was mobilizing Republican support for the midterm elections.
