Marjorie Taylor Greene launches huge attack on Trump over Iran - 'What's his mental state'

In a striking turn of events, one of Donald Trump’s most outspoken Republican allies is now publicly questioning his leadership.

Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized the president after he authorized Operation Epic Fury targeting Iran, arguing that the move contradicts the promises that helped fuel his political comeback. During an appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, Greene said the current direction of U.S. policy is “not what we voted for,” expressing frustration over what she sees as a return to interventionist foreign policy.

Greene pointed to Trump’s past campaign messaging particularly his pledges of “no more foreign wars” and opposition to regime change and suggested those commitments are now being abandoned. She also raised concerns about his decision-making and broader leadership approach, questioning who ultimately benefits from the escalation.

Her remarks reflect a deeper divide within Republican ranks, where some lawmakers are uneasy about renewed military involvement overseas. The debate highlights tensions between the party’s “America First” base and more traditional hawkish voices.

Meanwhile, Trump’s handling of the Iran situation has also sparked friction abroad. In the United Kingdom, he expressed frustration after Britain initially declined to allow U.S. forces to use its military bases for strikes connected to the operation. At one point, Trump compared Prime Minister Keir Starmer unfavorably to Winston Churchill, adding to diplomatic tensions.

Republican Senator Ted Cruz pushed back against the British government’s stance, accusing the prime minister of damaging the longstanding alliance between the two countries. Cruz warned that straining the so-called “special relationship” could harm both American and British interests.

Trump has also clashed with Spain after it reportedly refused U.S. access to its bases for related missions. In response, he threatened to cut off trade with the country and sharply criticized European leaders during a White House meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

The unfolding situation underscores growing political and diplomatic turbulence surrounding the Iran strikes. With criticism now emerging from within his own party, Trump faces not only international backlash but also internal pressure over whether his current actions align with the promises that energized his supporters.
