Donald Trump's brutal five-word insult to Fox News host during live interview

On March 26, President Donald Trump appeared on Fox News’ The Five for an audio interview to update viewers on the ongoing conflict with Iran. What started as a discussion about the war quickly shifted into a series of personal jabs and compliments toward the show’s panelists.

Trump began by praising several hosts, including Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino, Jesse Watters, and former MTV star Kennedy. Kayleigh McEnany filled in for Democratic strategist Jessica Tarlov, who was absent that day. However, the president did not let her absence pass without comment.

In a blunt five-word quip, Trump said, “I’m glad Jessica isn’t there,” prompting a surprised reaction from Perino. He continued mockingly, “No, actually! I think the show would be a lot better without her,” which caused Gutfeld to laugh and slam the table in amusement. Trump added, “Who am I to say that? I think it would be a lot better. I watch all of your shows.”

He also complimented Kennedy, saying, “You’re doing an excellent job,” and praised Gutfeld’s program with, “I do like his show.” Gutfeld responded with a thumbs-up to the camera.

After the interview, Tarlov took to social media to throw shade at the president, tweeting, “Was so bummed to miss the show today! But I definitely would’ve said he’s even inflating his numbers to 42 percent!” Her comment referred to the latest Fox News poll, which revealed Trump’s approval rating had dipped to 41 percent his lowest this term. The poll also found that 59 percent of registered voters disapprove of his performance, including a second-term low of 84 percent approval among Republicans. Among Democrats, 95 percent disapprove, and 75 percent of independents also disapprove of Trump’s job performance.

On the same day, Trump mocked the media during the National Republican Congressional Committee fundraising dinner, claiming that news networks were ignoring the “triumphs” of the military in Iran because they were focused on airport chaos amid TSA staffing issues caused by the partial government shutdown. “They don’t wanna settle, they want chaos,” Trump said, suggesting the media prioritizes turmoil over positive military developments.

This sequence of events highlights Trump’s ongoing strategy of blending personal attacks, media criticism, and self-praise even during discussions on serious national issues like war and national security.
