Donald Trump pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth II with one special touching gesture

Donald Trump has honored the late Queen Elizabeth II in a deeply personal and symbolic way at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. The former U.S. President, who held a long-standing admiration for the Queen, has installed a portrait of Her Majesty in a place of prominence at the exclusive Palm Beach property.

According to an Express exclusive, the portrait now occupies the grand dining room of Mar-a-Lago, displayed alone with no other artwork nearby. This gesture highlights Trump’s respect for the monarch and underscores his ongoing warm ties with the Royal Family, including King Charles III and Prince William.

The publisher of the portrait told the Express, “Donald Trump loved the Queen and admired her enormously. He wanted to honor her properly, which is why he made the decision for her portrait to be the only one displayed in the dining room.”

The dining room itself is a key space at Mar-a-Lago, frequently used to host world leaders, dignitaries, and high-profile guests. “It’s a touching gesture,” the publisher added. “World leaders are hosted in that very room, so in a sense Queen Elizabeth is still meeting heads of state.”

The portrait also carries a personal story. Melania Trump had previously commissioned the artist, Basia, to paint a portrait of the couple’s son, Barron, as a baby at Mar-a-Lago. Later, Basia met Trump at his Palm Beach golf course and gifted him a reproduction of the Queen’s portrait, which is now available for purchase online. Trump initially entrusted the artwork to a Secret Service agent before it was professionally framed and installed in the dining room.

Notably, this painting is historically significant as it was the final portrait Queen Elizabeth II sat for before her passing. “Trump was especially impressed by the fact that it was painted from real life, not taken from a photograph,” the source said. “His affection for the Queen actually began with his mother, who loved her deeply.”

This tribute stands as a quiet yet meaningful expression of respect from a former U.S. President to a monarch he clearly held in high regard.
